Laura practiced yoga in high school, however found a consistent practice in college. She was drawn to the mindful movement yoga encourages and incorporation of breath with that movement.
In 2013, Laura began to experience health issues such as joint pain and fatigue. As these symptoms worsened and increased over the next few years, she found solace in her yoga practice as a form of escape from symptoms while staying present in her body and developing deeper self-compassion. In 2018, Laura was diagnosed with Lyme disease. It was during her treatment she tried aerial yoga and discovered a new form of practice and play. While she has made an almost full recovery from her symptoms, she has kept aerial and ground based yoga in her continued practice.
Laura received training in aerial yoga a few months later in Fall 2018 and was certified in February of 2019. She received her RYT200 in Bali, Indonesia in January 2019. Laura has found empowerment and joy in aerial yoga and wishes to impart this playful practice with others. She strives to create a welcoming class environment that encourages everyone to listen to their bodies while challenging themselves and finding their edge, wherever that may be.
